last night i was describing this shit i used to have when i was a kid that was a bunch of colourful styrofoam logs you could build things with by sticking them together. they would stick together just by getting them wet. i was under the impression these things were called "zog logs" but a google search leads me to believe i have been mistaken. anyone know what the fuck i'm talking about?
last night we played the forest city gallery in london. pretty good times. had some vegan fish and chips at a place called Veg Out on Richmond st. Fully backed. somewhere along the line the show turned into some shit you might see on lastnightsparty.com but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless. thanks to cailen dye and the riderless for coming and raging.
a few upcoming shows:
may-28-30 we will be playing in toronto, oshawa, and brantford as part of the pitter patter festival put on by the wonderful keith hamilton. http://www.pitterpatterfest.com/home.php
a few shows in june. june 6th we will be playing a matinee at dr. disc and doing jams under the full moon at the coach and horses as space vampire. space vampire is like what seas what shores only louder and shittier. both of these will be with tel quel, our pal josh from owen sound.
also something special in the works for the end of june right before we leave for tour. more info when we're allowed to talk about it.

mad about gascar
so it looks like we are unable to play dr. disc that weekend. i'm a little bummed. we'll probably do that another day. everyone should go there and buy tons of shit anyway, because it is a fucking great record store that holds its own against any other store i've been to in the country.
if anyone who might stumble across this blog has a germanium fuzz pedal they might be willing to sell, i would like it. fat chance, i know.
we have been recently discussing the possibility of recording our own music ourselves. the idea is appealing given that we have an album's worth of material that is written and rehearsed that we would like to be able to record soon while it's fresh and exciting to us. for the price of recording in a studio or in a professional setting of some sort, we could buy a bunch of microphones and do things on our own terms. i don't think the studio atmosphere is ideal for us- but i don't mean this in a pretentious way, i think studios have their merits obviously. i just think working against a clock can really take away from the finished product. any advice or cool stuff like old mics or preamps or anything anyone could offer would be much appreciated. we have a rough idea of what we're doing, but we definitely need a few things.
our alter-ego band Space Vampire is going to be making a live appearance soon. look forward to gratuitous solos and other self-gratifying meanderings. maybe a cover or two.
one of our favourite bands might be playing windsor in june but we're not going to be able to play with them because i'll be out on tour then. shitty.

Oh yeah, I forgot to post something band related. Fuck.
We're playing April 11 at Phog with our friend Electroluminescent (Ryan)
www.myspace.com/electroluminescent
Also possibly playing at Dr. Disc for Record Store Day (April 18th). This one is pending, but if everything goes as planned we will be playing around 2pm. Should be a blast.
Also touring June/July. Going to punch the Atlantic Ocean right in the tits.
Also we want a 7". Should have one sooner than later.

inaugural blog
I got a blog.
I was going to make it a personal one, then I realized that not only would no one care about something like that (myself included), but that it would make more sense for me to use this to keep motherfuckers in the know about band-related happenings as we frequently drop the ball on making flyers or keeping things up to date on our myspace page. We don't even have a facebook page that i know of, and as far as I'm concerned, twitter is like flying cars or squagels(something that i refuse to acknowledge exists in the real world but that I think belongs in the perpetual imminent future). So this is a big leap for us into the technocological world that I keep hearing about. Chances are I'm going to post a lot of internet minutiae. You know, like animated gifs of kittens munching corn on the cob.
Currently listening to Weird Owl. They have two records out on Teepee records, check em out if you are into rock and roll music.
yours in weed,
kyle
